About The Project

Through my research, filming and interviewing, I have learned that there are good people (and good arguments) on both sides of the abortion debate.

Before the project, I thought abortion was an issue that would eternally divide women. There is no doubt that the abortion debate inspires many complicated discussions regarding religion, ethics and privacy. However, I believe that women need each other and can benefit from working together on this issue.

One way that both sides can work together is by partnering to stop forced abortions, which inherently violate both pro-abortion and anti-abortion beliefs. As I’m writing this, forced abortions in China are making headlines.

Both sides of the issue can also come together on decreasing the need for abortions by increasing access to birth control and contraception. Not all anti-abortion activists take this stance due to religious or moral opposition to birth control, but many do.

I welcome your feedback and discussion via the comments on each post. Thank you for taking the time to read, watch and hear The Future of Roe.
